New year, new plans. I hope you all had an amazing time over Xmas and enjoyed spending time with loved ones. We spent lots of time just relaxing and going for walks, and albeit WAY too much food, so obviously the normal resolution of get fitter and eat healthier kicks in.
Moving forward though I'm excited to see what the New Year is brining. We personally are trying to maximise ways to spend less money. So we are investing in a few yearly memberships, planning lots of picnics and prioritising where we feel money should be spent, so the North East theatres shouldn't worry as for us they are a top priority. Yes we already have so many shows booked.
Have you had your little one to the theatre yet? I have taken both of mine since they were 10 months old and they loved it, well at 22 Charlie is not so fussed now, but he loved it when he was younger. Alice adores the theatre though so definitely a priority for us.
If you don't want to splash out on a full price theatre tickets, as some of them can be rather expensive. Then check out Hullaballoo in Darlington. They have a fab installation which you can explore for free, a cafe, reading area and colouring sheets. They also do amazing little shows normally around 40-60 minutes long and they normally cost between £5-7 a ticket. There's always something going on each term for all different ages.
If you have children that you not sure who can sit, or have special needs they also do relaxed performances of some of their showings.
This seasons they have only shown one as relaxed but they have confirmed that the following: The Dark, How Long is a Piece of String and Pinocchio all have relaxed showing available.
From a business point of view I'm so excited about the plans I've got coming in 2023.
I've already announced my new class at Leyburn at Thornborough Hall, Thursday 11am, and the support and interest has been great. I'm hoping to announce another new class on a Monday afternoon as soon as possible, just waiting for the venue to confirm.
Our monthly sensory sessions at Temple Fun will be starting the second Thursday of every month (excluding during April and August due to school holidays) - these will be at 1:30pm and will include entry to the softplay and for the babies entry into the new baby sensory area coming very soon!
19th March 2023 sees the launch of my very first Under 5's demo day, in collaboration with Yorkshire Rose Events. I can't wait to share over the coming weeks with you the stall holders and demonstrations we will be having. I hope you are able to come along and support all the local businesses and spend some time have free taster sessions, yummy snacks and even a little massage x
Finally I will be ending the year with my first ever ADULTS SENSORY XMAS PARTY!!! Yes you read that right, it will be at Richmond Rugby Club around the beginning of December, date to be confirmed. Two hours of games, sensory, dancing and nibbles PLUS a goodie bag for every person! Dates and Prices will be announced soon.
My final thought is that in all this madness I need to make sure I don't get lost and still make time for me, even if that's a quick bath, five minutes with my colouring books, a bit of crochet (I tell myself 23 will be the year I learn), or even just sitting down with a favourite book for a few minutes. Whatever it is I need to make sure I still have a tiny bit of me time and so do you x Remember you all do amazing jobs whether you are a mam, dad, grandparent
or carer, you all pay an important role in the child's life you are involved with and your health is important to allowing you to fulfil this role. Take care of yourselves and remember if you ever need someone to talk to I
am always here on email, phone or messenger xxx
Happy New Year everyone and thank you for all your continued support
